About Us

My name is Antonia (Tania) Sofikitou, and I am a mother of two children.

I was born in Athens and I was raised in Piraeus.

For the past 20 years, in parallel with the raise of my children, I have been working in the shipping industry. I am the owner of Oceania Yachting and I am involved in the agency, management, and chartering of recreational yachts, as well as in the general repairs and refits of yachts and ships. I have served as treasurer of the Association of Shipping Agents and, holding a certification as a Shipping Agent and Shipbroker, I am actively engaged in the developments of my sector.

Coming from a maritime family, I worked at the port of Piraeus for several years, representing Greek shipowners. My father, a Chief Engineer on ships and later a ship repairer for coastal and cruise ships, guided me toward my professional path from a very young age, having me by his side at the machine shop, during ship dockings, and in repairs at sea.

On the other hand, my mother, coming from a family of politicians and musicians, instilled in me a great love for the arts, as well as an immense passion for defending justice.

My studies are related to economics and shipping, while I am currently studying Psychology. I have also been involved in teaching the English language.

As part of my involvement in sailing sports, I am a member of the Yacht Club of Greece and the owner of the yacht “Isabella,” which has won first, third, second, and second-place trophies in the Spetses Regatta in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021 respectively, as well as the first place in the Sailing Marathon in 2018.

I have had the honor of participating for the past five years in the exceptional “EX PARENTE” choir of the Music School of Piraeus, under the direction of its talented conductor.

I enjoy painting, theater, poetry, and writing, having created a small collection of paintings and an unpublished poem collection.

In recent years, I have been actively involved in Associations and Clubs. Specifically, I have served as Vice President of the Panhellenic Association of Parents of Music and Art Schools (for two terms so far) and in the Music School of Piraeus.

In the 2023 elections, I was a candidate for Municipal Councilor in the ticket of Mr. Giannis Moralis.

That same year, I was appointed as a regular member of the Secondary Education School Committee of the Municipality of Piraeus.

During my term, which continues thanks to the trust and support of the community, I have taken a leading role and actively participated in the fight for the rights of children and adolescents in our schools.

I have also contributed to the change, improvement, and completion of projects that have enhanced the quality of life and the daily experience of students in schools, and I continue to advocate for proper, free education for all children.

The sea, my work, music, art and my involvement in public affairs for a better future for the younger generation are my passions.

With respect for society, humanity, and the environment, I move forward guided by values, working hard and progressing.
